Hi, I'm Ashley.

My story

Hello friends,

My name is Ashley and I'm a California licensed midwife. My story as a birth worker began in Atlanta, Georgia where I was born and raised. In 2013 I felt the pull to become a labor support person. As a labor support person I provided free care for my community in an effort to help reduce the infant and maternal mortality rate that disproportionally effects the black and brown birthing people of the south. Even though my contribution was small my passion was big.

After 4 long years of provideing support in the hospital setting, I knew I had more growing to do and I knew without a doubt that birthing people deserved better. With this new found fire I applied and was accepted to the MEAC accredited institution Midwives college of Utah. At MCU I was able to earn my Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, obtain the knowledge to take and pass the NARM exam and become a certified professional midwife. With these distinctions I obtained a license to practice midwifery in California in 2023.

In 2015 as a labor support person I traveled to Haiti and volunterred as a teacher and trained midwifery students at Nadene Brunk Eads School in the art of labor support.

As a midwifery student I apprenticed with midwives in Southern California and Northeast Ohio in both birth centers and home birth settings.

When I am not wearing my midwife hat I am a mother to a tiny human, servant to a cat and partner to a pretty cool guy. Ask me about Sarah J. Maas books, any real housewives franchise, and my treacherous sourdough journey.

I maintain certifications in NRP, BLS, and IV skills. I also maintain a midwifery licensure in California and certified professional midwife credential from the North American Registry of Midwives NARM.
